About Monogrammed Bathrobes

What Makes a Great
Monogrammed Bathrobe?

A monogrammed bathrobe is only as good as the robe it's embroidered on. Too many personalized robes are mass-produced overseas, embroidered by machine, and sold as if the name is what makes them special. The name is not what makes them special. The robe is what makes them special.

"The embroidery is only as good as the robe beneath it. Start with handmade craftsmanship, and personalization becomes an extension of that care."

At Robeworks, every monogrammed bathrobe starts the same way every other Robeworks robe starts: cut and sewn by hand in our Los Angeles, California studio. The same artisans who build the robe apply the embroidery — in-house, with the same attention to detail. Nothing is outsourced. Nothing is rushed.

Our proprietary fabric construction — a refined microfiber exterior over a plush terrycloth interior — is what has made Robeworks the trusted choice of five-star hotels and spas since 1995. When you embroider a name or monogram onto a robe built at this level, the result is something that will be used and appreciated every day for years.

Choosing your embroidery style comes down to the occasion and your taste. A single initial reads as modern and minimal — suitable for any robe, any color, any person. The three-letter monogram (first, LAST, middle) is the formal, traditional choice: always at home on a wedding gift, an anniversary present, or anything meant to be kept for a long time. A full name is the warmest option — personal and direct, the natural choice for bridal parties and gifts where the message is "this is specifically for you."

Thread color matters more than most people realize. White thread on a white robe creates a beautiful, tonal result — subtle and refined. Dark thread on light robes provides maximum contrast. Gold thread on any robe reads as premium and deliberate. For the discerning customer, we can offer a full palette of thread colors and our team is happy to advise on combinations — just reach out before ordering.

If you're ordering for a bridal party or corporate event, place your order with a good amount of lead time. Personalized orders require an additional 7–10 business days of production before shipping, and demand for wedding robes is highest from April through October. Rush options are sometimes available — contact us directly to discuss your timeline.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything to Know About
Monogrammed Robes

How long does monogramming take?

Personalized orders require an additional 7–10 business days of production before your order ships. This is in on top of the shipping transit time. If you need a rush, contact us before ordering and we'll let you know what's possible.

Can I return or exchange a monogrammed robe?

Personalized items are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged unless there is a defect in the robe or embroidery. Please double-check your spelling and thread color before confirming. If we made an error, we will always make it right.

What is a traditional three-letter monogram?

The traditional format places the last name initial in the center and larger, with first name to the left and middle to the right. For Sarah Jane Doe, it reads "sDj." It's the formal choice — classic on wedding and anniversary gifts.

Where is the embroidery placed on the robe?

Standard placement is the front left chest — the traditional position for luxury spa and hotel bathrobes, consistent across all our styles. Custom placement for bulk orders can be arranged. Contact our wholesale team for details.

Can I order bulk monogrammed robes for my hotel?

Absolutely. Robeworks has supplied luxury hotels, resorts, spas, and corporate clients since 1995. Bulk embroidery with names, initials, or logos is available. Visit our wholesale page or call us to discuss your order.

How do I care for a robe with embroidery?

Machine wash warm, tumble dry low. Our embroidery holds up through regular laundering — built to the same standard as commercial hotel laundry operations. Avoid bleach to preserve thread color over time.

Are Robeworks robes truly made in the USA?

Yes — 100%. Every robe is cut, sewn, and embroidered in Los Angeles, California. We have manufactured in the USA since 1995 and that has never changed. Read more about how we make our robes.

What makes Robeworks different from other monogrammed robe brands?

Most competitors sell mass-produced robes with embroidery added as an afterthought. Robeworks robes are handmade in Los Angeles, one at a time, from materials trusted by five-star hotels. The embroidery is applied in the same studio where the robe was built — not outsourced.
