A truly great bathrobe doesn’t happen by accident. It isn’t pulled from a warehouse shelf, rushed into a box, or mass-produced by the millions. At Robeworks, every robe is made from scratch, intentionally, carefully, and by hand. From the moment you place your order, a process begins that’s rooted in craftsmanship, patience, and uncompromising quality.

Here’s what really goes into making a bathrobe worthy of everyday luxury. It's a bespoke experience from day one.

It Starts With Your Order, Not a Shelf

At Robeworks, nothing is pre-made. Your robe doesn’t exist until you order it. In many ways, the robe only comes to life when you select your dream color combination and sizing.

Once your order is placed, we contact our longtime supplier to get fabric specifically for you. We ensure the the highest-quality microfiber for the exterior and premium terry cloth for the interior, materials chosen for durability, softness, absorbency, and longevity. Anything that doesn’t meet our standards is rejected outright. There are no substitutions and no shortcuts.

This is one of the most important differences between a mass-produced robe and a Robeworks robe: your garment begins its life because you asked for it. 

Precision Cutting, Done in Los Angeles

Next, the fabric is delivered to a specialized fabric cutter in Los Angeles, someone who works exclusively with these materials and understands the exact patterns required to produce a robe that fits and drapes properly.

With thousands of robes produced each month, we treat every order exactly the same: meeting the highest bar of quality, each time. This step ensures your robe’s color accuracy, sizing, and proportions are exactly right. At this stage, the robe exists only as two separate pieces of fabric: the microfiber exterior and the terry cloth interior, perfectly cut and ready to become something more.

Embroidery Done the Right Way

If you’ve chosen embroidery, this is where Robeworks does something truly special.

We embroider only the top layer of microfiber, never piercing through to the terry cloth lining. That means you’ll never feel stitching against your skin. No irritation, no stiffness, no scratchy feeling... just comfort. This technique requires additional time and expertise, which is why our embroidery is handled by a team with over 25 years of experience.

If the embroidery isn’t perfect the first time, we don’t “fix” it. We start over and remake the robe from scratch. While this can occasionally cause delays, it’s the only way we can stand behind the final product. We appreciate your patience when this happens, and we promise it’s done in service of quality. That means if the hood doesn't look right on your hooded bathrobe, we have to start from scratch. Seriously.

Sewn by Skilled Hands, One Stitch at a Time

Once embroidery is complete, the two pieces of fabric are brought together by our team of expert tailors and seamstresses. This stage is done using traditional sewing machines, guided by trained hands and careful eyes.

Every seam is inspected as it’s sewn. Any flaw, no matter how small, means the robe doesn’t move forward. We’d rather discard a piece than send out something that doesn’t meet our standards. 

Final Inspection and Careful Shipping

Before your robe leaves our studio, it passes through a final quality-assurance review. Our team checks for any remaining issues, fixes what can be fixed, and ensures the robe meets every Robeworks standard.

Your robe is then gently placed into protective packaging to keep it pristine during transit. We'd love to guarantee that we know what happens with the shipping handlers, but we've done our absolute best to make it perfect the instant it hits it box.
